A two and a half hour long romantic fantasy set in the times of the Crusades. Not knowing much historically about the Crusades, I relied on the film to give me all of the details I needed to grasp the context that the story was set in, luckily, unlike many historical films, I was suitably able to understand how and why certain things were portrayed in the movie. This feeling of knowledge about this time period helped keep me entertained throughout what I think is an excellent film.
The story follows Orlando Blooom, who plays a blacksmith that joins the Crusade not for the battle, but so that he has plenty of supplies and protection for his own journey to Jerusalem to pray for his wife, who had earlier committed suicide. Normally this type of banding together over religious causes will often make me feel sleepy and get bored with the film quickly. However, Kingdom Of Heaven manages to throw in enough fighting, along with quieter scenes, to make me feel happy about watching this.
The props and effects used in this film were top notch, and overall the film was far better than the boring religion based film I was expecting.

366 Films In 366 Days
Monday 2 January 2012
TEH ROOLZ
Okay so basically I have to try my best to review 366 films in 366 days.
Although you'd think I'd just do one film a day I've already started late so I'm allowing days where I review more than one film to catch up.
I am also counting one whole series of a TV programme as one film.
eg. Watching the latest series of Skins on E4 will equate to one film after the last episode.
Okay summary over, good luck to anyone else trying!
